The land around this property is strewn with debris, trash and waste and is unsanitary as can be seen in the series of photographs taken on the site on April 23rd and posted here http://www.yesincludeme.com/land-adjacent-derelict-magruder-building.html
The building and surrounding land is being lived in and on without the consent of the owners. Needles are reported to have been found on the property. The immediate surroundings of the building comprises unsanitary trash.
Access to the car park is open allowing anyone to enter it by car. Cars are seen entering the car park of what is now a derelict not legally functioning building during day and night, circling slowly and when I was at the premises, a person trespassing on the land phoned someone who arrived there by car to confront me and demand that I leave. He objected to my using a camera. All that raises suspicions of illicit drug dealing taking place at the premises which has also been reported to me anecdotally by other neighbors.
The developers who own the land have not implemented any security to prevent trespass nor erected any signage indicating who they are or allowing the public to contact them should people be seen trespassing or otherwise committing code violations on the property. I suggest the City require of GHA Construction, 68936 Adelina Rd, Cathedral City, CA 92234 (760) 322-3422, a junior partner in the development, that the access be blocked and such signage be erected and demand that they instigate monitoring and cleaning of the land frequently as it is a public health hazard.
