We are continuing to see evidence of regeneration of and investment in South Palm Springs. In case you missed them here they are.
The Stardust Hotel, which a couple of years ago was looking a tad faded, has been refurbished and given an uplift.
On the opposite side of E. Palm Canyon Drive from the Stardust sits Mr. Lyons Steakhouse, itself a greatly upgraded and enhanced local watering hole, with fine-dining restaurant, pub (serving high-quality food at reasonable prices), Seymour's bar which opened in the Fall of 2016, independently run by Steen, private-dining facilities and, most recently, the expanded patio with fire pit and chillaxing areas.
The V Hotel
The refurbishment and reimagining of the V Hotel behind Mr. Lyons continues, and is bringing more rooms and a restaurant, Solstice, to the area. It's worth getting on their mailing list to get notification of the opening of the new restaurant: JOIN V INSIDER.
Joey Palm Springs
Joey Palm Springs is a bistro on S. Indian Canyon Drive which opened in early 2016 has expanded repeatedly since then and is becoming a local meeting spot.
The Chase Hotel Became Holiday House
Holiday House hotel reopened earlier this year after a major refurbishment as the City's newest luxury hotel.
La Serena Villas
Slap bang next to the Hotel Del Marcos was a group of what for years had been somewhat uninspiring cottage-like buildings. Well they're uninspiring no more! 2017 welcomed the opening of La Serena Villas, an 18-room luxury boutique hotel and spa. A bar and restaurant are scheduled to open there in June.
There have been some set backs with the development of the brand new Andage hotel in central Palm Springs halted due to faulty concrete, and the relocation of Bernies restaurant to Rancho Mirage, but overall the news has been positive.
